Topic: College and Future Plans
Essay topic: Please describe, in the space below, what your plans are for the future and how you plan to achieve them.
After approximately 15 years, I plan to be established as the head of a major environmental energy company, either as the actual owner or heading the R&D (research and development) department. While it is an understandably difficult task to develop such a position in a field, so new at this time, that is also why I set my sights on this frontier of environmental energy. It is a field in its' infancy, there are discoveries to be made, ideas to be developed, everything is new, and the field changes often.
When I go into the University of Wyoming under an Environmental Sciences major, (or should finances prove capable, Environmental Engineering in South Dakota School of Mines) in 2011, I will maintain my present record of continuing growth and work hard in the fields associated with my major. As I study, I will come into a work study scholarship program my sophomore year of college, so as to develop a stronger understanding of the process of setting up the various machines used to harness the environment. Possibly coming up with ways to enhance the machines by making them more efficient or combining harnessing capabilities. The work study will enable me to get my foot in the door for a few companies in the field I have set my sights upon. With this, I have a few companies to choose from to apply to for an entry-level or higher position within the company, (post-college graduation). After doing this, I will research, study, and experiment with mechanisms in order to further develop the company. As I do so, I will research ways to further enhance the company in manufacturing, efficiency, etc. by continuing a class or two in college, I can continue to be a driving force in the company through research and manufacturing of mechanisms (in turbines, aesthetics, and effeciency of the mechanisms).
As years pass, discoveries will be made, and I am certain that I will be behind a few of them. I've designed ideas for mechanisms that could harness both wind and solar power, turn torrential rains into something legitimate for not only a small turbine, but a greenhouse as well, amongst other things. Honestly, I believe I can accomplish becoming the head of a company involved in harnessing the elements, because I think differently and I use that to my advantage. I will use it to aid in the harnessing of our world around us, to develop the energy capable of helping advance our civilization.

This essay had a few typos, so make sure to read it aloud to catch those simple mistakes. I liked the way that you followed the prompt, but I felt like I didn't get any of your personality. I did make comments on you essay and saved it to the expos folder in classroom2, student essays, college scholarships and applications.
